The kids helped me make a double batch of sugar cookies and a double batch of gingerbread cookies. We rolled, made cut-outs, and baked all evening.
Our friends, the Covey family, came over to decorate cookies with us. The kids got to take home as many cookies as they could decorate. We had more frosting, candies, sprinkles and cookies than we could possibly use. The kids were happily busy, creating cookie masterpieces all afternoon.
The cookie creations...
Later that evening the kids helped me make up some plates for the neighbors. We went caroling and delivered them the following evening.
And we still had enough cookies left over to make a take home treat for each of my Nursery Children at church. Abby helped me finish up these little trees with stars.
It was a cookie making factory at our house for nearly two full days, a tradition we will continue. It's a great feeling to finally sweep up the flour and admire our plates and plates of magical cut-outs. They are almost too cute to eat. Almost.
